Terms and Conditions

Coastal Empire Continuing Education Institute Effective date: September 20, 2026 These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Coastal Empire Continuing Education Institute website, learning platform, and courses (together, the "Platform"). The Platform is operated by Coastal Empire Continuing Education Institute ("we," "us," or "our"), based in Georgia, United States. By creating an account, enrolling in a course, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1.  Who the Platform Is For

The Platform is designed for licensed mental health and behavioral health professionals and for students and trainees in those fields. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or make a purchase. Our courses are educational programs for professionals and are not intended for the general public or for clients seeking treatment.

2. Your Account

2.1 Accurate information. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when you register and to keep it up to date. Your name on your account should match the name you want printed on any certificate.

2.2 One person, one account. Your account is personal to you. You may not share your login, and you may not allow anyone else to complete course content, assessments, or evaluations on your behalf. Credit and certificates are issued only to the individual who completed the program.

2.3 Security. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us right away.

3. Courses, Continuing Education, and Credit

3.1 Credit status is stated on each course page. Unless a course page states that continuing education credit is offered, the course is provided for educational purposes only and no continuing education credit is awarded. Some courses, including free or introductory offerings, may be non-credit.

3.2 Acceptance of credit is your responsibility. Licensing boards, certifying bodies, and employers set their own rules about which continuing education they accept. Before enrolling, please confirm that a course meets the requirements of your own board or organization. We do not guarantee that any board will accept a particular course.

3.3 Completion requirements for self-paced courses. For self-paced courses that offer credit, the requirements are described on the course page and include completing all required instructional content, passing the course assessment, and completing the course evaluation when it is part of the completion process. By completing a course, you confirm that you personally viewed or listened to all required content and completed the assessment yourself, without assistance. Sharing answers or otherwise completing a course in a way that does not reflect your own participation does not satisfy the requirements.

3.4 Assessments. The passing score and any retake rules are stated for each course. If you do not reach the passing score, you may retake the assessment as allowed by that course's assessment procedures. Credit and a certificate are awarded only after you pass.

3.5 Live sessions. For live sessions that offer credit, you must meet the attendance requirements stated for the session. We verify attendance using reliable methods, which may include registration and check-in records, attendance reports from the meeting platform, or sign-in and sign-out records. Credit is awarded only for the portion of a session you attend and that we can verify, and only where the approving organization permits partial credit.

3.6 How credit hours are calculated. Credit is based on actual instructional time. Breaks, meals, introductions, administrative announcements, and other non-instructional material are not counted. The number of credit hours offered is stated on the course page.

3.7 Certificates. For courses that offer credit, a certificate of completion is made available only after you have met all completion requirements. It is not available before completion. Each certificate includes the information required by the approving organization for that course.

3.8 Replacement certificates and verification. If you need a replacement certificate or verification of a course you completed, contact us. We may confirm your identity and check our records first. A replacement certificate reflects the credit you originally earned and does not award additional or different credit.

3.9 Records. We keep records of participation, assessment completion, and course evaluations for at least five years. You may request a copy of your own certificate or completion record at any time by contacting us.

3.10 Presenters and disclosures. Presenter names and qualifications are provided on the course page or in the course materials. Presenters are expected to disclose financial, professional, or other relationships that could reasonably be seen as influencing course content, and we share relevant disclosures with participants where appropriate. Course content is developed for educational purposes and is not designed primarily to promote a product, service, or business.

3.11 Our responsibility for our programs. We are responsible for the content, delivery, and administration of our courses. We work to keep course content accurate, current, and consistent with professional and ethical standards.

4. Fees, Payment, Refunds, and Cancellation

4.1 Fees. The price of each course is shown at the time of registration. Prices may change, but the price shown when you place your order is the price you pay. Some courses are offered free of charge.

4.2 Payment. Payments are processed through our online store or another secure checkout provider using encryption. We do not store your full payment card details on the Platform. Registration for our courses is available at stan.store/heidihilllcsw.

4.3 Self-paced courses. You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided you have not completed the course or received a certificate of completion. After 14 days, or after completion, purchases are non-refundable.

4.4 Live sessions and webinars. You may cancel and request a full refund up to 48 hours before the scheduled start time. After that, refunds are not available, but you may be given access to a recording where one is offered.

4.5 If we cancel or change a course. If we cancel a course or session, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to another offering. 4.6 How to request a refund. Email us at heidi@heidihilllcsw.com with your name, the course title, and the email address used at registration. We aim to process approved refunds within 10 business days.

5. Complaints and Disputes

We want to resolve concerns quickly and fairly. If you have a complaint about a course, a presenter, billing, or these Terms, please email heidi@heidihilllcsw.com or write to us at the mailing address below, addressed to the CE Administrator, and include the course title, a description of the concern, and how you would like it resolved.

We will acknowledge your complaint within five business days.

We will review it and send you a written response, generally within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may contact your licensing board or the organization that approved the course.

We keep a record of complaints and may be required to report certain complaints about continuing education programs to the organization that approves them.

6.Accessibility and Accommodations

We are committed to making our courses accessible to participants with disabilities. If you need an accommodation, such as captions, transcripts, extended time on an assessment, or an alternative format, contact us at heidi@heidihilllcsw.com before or during your course and we will work with you to provide reasonable accommodations.

7. Non-Discrimination and Respectful Participation

We do not discriminate against any individual or group on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, age, or any other characteristic protected by law. Participation in our courses does not require you to adopt any particular religious or political belief.

8. Privacy and Confidentiality

8.1 What we collect and why. We collect the personal information you provide, such as your name, email address, license information, payment details, and course activity. We use it to provide the Platform, process payments, issue certificates, keep required records, and communicate with you about your courses.

8.2 Confidentiality. We treat participant information as confidential. We do not sell your personal information.

8.3 When we may share information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Platform (such as payment processors and our learning platform provider), and with licensing boards, approving organizations, or other authorities when needed to verify participation, respond to an audit, or comply with the law. We may also share your completion information with your authorization, for example to verify a certificate at your request.

8.4 Marketing emails. We may send you information about our courses. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

8.5 Privacy Policy. Our Privacy Policy provides further detail and is part of these Terms.

9. Educational Content and Professional Judgment

Course content is provided for educational purposes only. It is not clinical, legal, financial, or supervisory advice, and it does not create a professional relationship between you and us. You remain responsible for your own professional judgment, your own clinical decisions, and your compliance with the laws, ethical codes, and licensing requirements that apply to you. Case studies and examples are composite or de-identified and are used for teaching purposes only.

10. Intellectual Property and Course Materials

10.1 Ownership. All course content, including videos, slides, handouts, assessments, graphics, and text, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by U.S. and international copyright law.

10.2 Your permitted use. Registered participants may use course materials for their own personal, professional learning. You may not copy, record, screen-capture, redistribute, resell, or publicly share course content without our written permission.

10.3 Fair use and third-party materials. Nothing in these Terms limits any use of material that is permitted by fair use under Section 107 of the U.S. Copyright Act or other applicable law. Third-party materials referenced in our courses remain the property of their respective owners.

11. Acceptable Use and Community Conduct

When you use any discussion, comment, messaging, or other communication feature on the Platform, you agree to:

Treat others respectfully, and not post content that is unlawful, abusive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or discriminatory.

Protect client confidentiality by never posting identifying information about a client or patient.

Not impersonate another person or misrepresent your credentials.

Not use the Platform for spam, unauthorized advertising, or mass communication. We may monitor and remove content that violates these Terms and may suspend or close accounts as described below.

12. Third-Party Links and Services

The Platform may contain links to other websites and use third-party services. We do not control those sites or services and are not responsible for their content or practices. A link does not mean that we endorse the site or its owner.

13.Availability and Technical Requirements

We work to keep the Platform available and functioning, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Occasional maintenance, outages caused by third-party providers, or events outside our control may affect availability. You are responsible for having a compatible device, browser, and internet connection. If a technical problem prevents you from completing a course, contact us and we will work with you to resolve it.

14. Suspension and Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate an account, and may withdraw a certificate that was obtained improperly, if you violate these Terms, share your account, misrepresent your identity or your completion of a course, infringe our intellectual property, or misuse the Platform. Where reasonable, we will tell you the reason. Ending an account does not by itself entitle you to a refund except as described in Section 4.

15. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Platform is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the Platform will meet your particular requirements, and we do not guarantee any specific professional, clinical, or financial outcome from taking a course. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the course at issue. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when they were last revised. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on the Platform, and your continued use after the change means you accept the updated Terms.

17.Governing Law and General Provisions

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You agree that any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Georgia. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any course-specific terms shown at registration, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Platform. No third party has any rights under these Terms.
